Something struck me while watching tv tonight. Just about everyone watches ads on fastforward if they can. I wonder how long it will take for some advertising company to realise that instead of spending money on voice-overs and storytelling advertising, if they just had a guy who was pointing at the words “Buy… this… car…”, the ad would probably make a lot more sense to the majority of viewers as we whiz by on our way to the next segment of the show we’re watching.
Or they run the add real slow so that on fast forward its actually at normal speed. Now that would really piss me off. I’d have to buy a DVD recorder or whatever with a super-duper fast forward setting just to compensate.
so based on the Creatures solution I forsee a coldwar develop between the makers of advertisements and those that produce recorders… for the love of Grod will someone just buy the frickin car already!
