This is so ‘old-school’ these days but I have an awkward confession to make.
Yup.
I really enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons back in my uni days.
And then I managed to jag a girl with questionable tastes and my com-padres found gainful employment and the quest through the mythical lands of ‘Rocks’ was never quite completed.
The following clip just cracks me up.
It is so on the money in terms of the characters that Midnight and i came across during our gaming wilderness years and the strange and at times petty in-game politics on where was I and when did I cast and am I drinking now?
Arrrrr good times… now superceded by the amazing cinema like sensory experiences provided by fantasy game on PS3 and Xbox and amazing online universes like Warcraft and Ultima and so on… and yet I’d argue that we had more fun and had greater interactivity with a group of real people in the room sharing their imaginations… perhaps.
At least if someone presented themselves as a girl she was. Unlike online. Creepy.
Enjoy the clip… and be a tad afraid… it is remotely possible that there are still some of ‘us’ gathered in little kitchens and at the back of cafes right now rolling a 20 sided dice to determine the future of all of mankind. Hope he casts.

It doesn’t help that everyone lives all over the world now….
