‘Terror’ Charity – Buy the Cookies by Grod!

We\'re Comin\' and we got a pack full of charity for ya!

I read this article in the South China Morning Post and I am ashamed to say it kinda made me laugh.

Okay before we go on, terrorism is bad, it is evil, and it needs to be stamped out and so on. We all agree…. it’s more the slug line or title that prompted my sense of fun.

I couldn’t help imagining a radical terrorist cell staking out a nearby embassy or a commercial centre and ruthlessly stalking their targets and demanding they purchase their Girl Guide styled fund raiser cookies or little support badges and stickers.

The other thing that made me chuckle was the support photograph of some commandos about to ‘bust’ open a suspects doorway…. by ever so carefully opening the door… “careful Sameer… we could have a room full of Lance Armstrong inspired rubber bracelets or some of those hellish green-the-world bumper stickers inside!”

Wait… Has anyone else noticed that the Salvation Army has the word Army in its name? Talk about a terror charity, there’s a Salvo who lurks around the train station in Brisbane who maliciously shakes his collection box at you and then wishes you a pleasant day even if you don’t give him any money. How dodgey is that?

Mind you, I always end up giving him money, because it’s nice when he says thank you and then I go to work and people yell at me and then I look for more change to go give the guy so he’ll say thank you again…
