Okay what is going on out there. It seems everyone is taking a ‘pot-shot’, as it were, at Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Yesterday I posted a news report where a world champion boxer made his future Obama as Prez predictions and it would seem that the day before this revelation, Noble Prize winner and Grand Dame of literature Doris Lessing was also making the same predictions as reported by The Press Association during an interview with a Swedish paper with a funny Monty-Pythonesque name.

Doris was quick to clarify that she didn’t know who would do the dirty deed on Obama - which is kinda comforting.

Visions of Doris or one of her bookish gal-pals colluding to assassinate a world leader kinda freaks me out a little. In the article she also suggested that Obama and Clinton join forces. What’s that all about! Now we have novelists joining the boxers as political strategists? Fine.

Still Doris does make a valid point, that unlike the ‘Executioner’ doesn’t make me flinch. Anything is possible as one of them will still need a running mate to fill the VP booby-prize role. Not such a big deal if Lady Clinton gets the gong but boy, if I was Obama, and if the wordsmith and pugilist are correct, he’d be well advised to be mindful of 20C history and specifically the ‘unexpected’ JFK and LBJ switcheroo…. I’m just saying. Pick well.

Or perhaps Edwards could be recalled to work with Hillary as all this Obama being cap’d talk is starting to unhinge me and it can’t be helpful to Mrs Obama. Let’s hope her husband is either brave and courageous or alternatively pragmatic. ….and shaddup Doris and Bernie, your both starting to really get my goat… and he’s not happy at all.
