SAI LI FROM SHANGHAI HAS LOGGED ON.

[08:49:24 AM] Sally says: Hi There Dazzle Razzles - how’d you go on the copy for the Japanese thing?

[08:49:48 AM] Darren says: Hi there… Sai Li. Well I got at least one for you. Didn’t really know how to tackle this without… well.. without any real information to hand …look I thought with a pre-existing cultural divide this would dictate a strong visual approach with kinda of a story developing… being a cosmetic product I’m thinking a fashion show catwalk type thing. Product reveal = high energy. Anyway I though something built around Transvision Vamps song track “Baby I Don’t Care” might be fun.

[08:51:36 AM] Sally says: Sounds fab. I like walk-offs! Let’s hear it.

[08:51:39 AM] Darren says: ok. It reads like this:

The Logo reveal is performed with a combination of stylized dance sequence, an over-the-top faux band, and a cluster of special effects all choreographed to the very distinctive female empowerment hit track ‘ Baby I Don’t Care’ by Transvision Vamp.

The stage area is set in a wide rectangle block with a very long neck – a catwalk.
Along the back of the stage will be a two leveled stage riser. The lower riser, although relatively shallow in depth will run the full length of the stage width proper. Set in a single file line will be a standup keyboard, bass guitar, drum kit, vocalist, horns. Directly above on the upper riser is a stranger horizon formed by four large shapes concealed with flowing silver disc lame drops shimmering under the lights.

The room darkens suddenly and a drum and bass beat throbs hypnotically throughout the room. A squeal of a guitar is heard and the guitarist theatrically crab walks across the stage – the end of his guitar is spurting pyros.

From behind him the remaining members of this art-rock styled band, all backlit silhouettes, stride out to the beat to take up position at/with their respective instruments. The vocalist steps out into a double followspot position. Dramatic pause, a breath taken – the beat dissolves. On cue – the vocalist is hit with a double followspot action and the band as one launch into the title track full of youthful energy and young blood attitude. A 2m Gerb is fired off at both ends of the stage.

From either side of the stage march out a series of models – all dressed in different styles and looks reflective of the many faces of SEPTEM products. The models split into two groups and prowl the stage to the band’s song. Peeling off from their individual lines, each model strides up the catwalk – heavy to toe. Armed with dramatic pouts the model reaches the walk head, stop, pout over the shoulder, twist on point and strides back down the catwalk passing another storming right up the catwalk for her own special moment.

As this catwalk sequence evolves, the remaining models engage in a series of heavily sequenced dance moves to the music track. The lighting design builds in intensity, to screen a series of product support is displayed to screen, twisted, folded and spun off only to be replaced by another series of SEPTEM products.

From behind the upper riser, four very buff men wearing only white flowing fishing pants appear in a straight direct line facing out to the audience. Spotted the men extend on the dance sequence before reaching over and as one ripping off the silver lame to reveal four huge Perspex letters. Pow!

The audience see a giant S, P, T, M. The lead dancer prances from the M, along the letters, down to the S. As it he progresses he spins and bops each letter. On contact they each lite up form inside in bright white light. As he reaches and bops the S the remaining three dancers step forward – holding the smaller ‘E’s and one with the circle. The letters lit up as one. A quick colour scroll before they all finish on a bright luminous maroon colour.

With that the song reaches it’s final climax, the models and band alike adopt a flexed-Fosse pose and from above a series of gold glitter airbursts are detonated filling the stage. A fantastic gold storm engulfs the stage.

Front lights out, backlit from the logo continues before a followspot picks up SEPTEM representative walks out to center stage and cast clear. Welcome to SEPTEM baby!

[09:05:12 AM] Sally says: Hmmmmm.
[09:05:15 AM] Darren says: Hm? Good Hm or not so good hm?

[09:05:20 AM] Sally says:It’s good…. but.
[09:05:22 AM] Darren says:but what?

[09:05:26 AM] Sally says:Can you rework the next option with something a little more Australian…. you know like XS.
[09:05:28 AM] Darren says:who?
[09:05:26 AM] Sally says:you know the band with the guy who hung himself while slapping the puppy n’ then they had to do a rock show to find a singer that was younger, and alive, and had massive but very cool wing tattoos all up his arms ’cause his is an archie-angel from the world of rock!

[09:05:31 AM] Darren says:Sai Li.
[09:05:33 AM] Sally says:yes?
[09:05:36 AM] Darren says:Do you mean INXS?
[09:05:38 AM] Sally says:ok.
